Dr. Robinson Named Provost of Cambridge

DURHAM, NC - Brother Dr. Elwood L. Robinson has accepted the position of Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs of Cambridge College. Dr. Robinson will oversee Cambridge’s academic deans and faculties, including the undergraduate and graduate programs, seven regional centers and other academic administrative functions. Dr. Robinson has demonstrated vision, leadership and commitment to the values and mission of Cambridge College making him ideally suited to lead the College’s academic programs. While at North Carolina Central University, Dr. Robinson servedin a variety of leadership and academic roles for over twenty-five years. As Dean of the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences, he managed nine departments and chairs, four centers and directors, over 200 faculty and support staff. He also supervised a state and researchbudget of 16 million dollars.

In addition he served as the Chair of the Department of Psychology for three years after becoming a full professor in 1996. He has been a productive scholar with over four hundred scientific publications and presentations. Brother Robinson is also credited for his work as the Director of the Minority Access to Research Careers program which has grown to one of
the largest and most productive programs in the country. Dr. Robinson holds a B.A. in Psychology magna cum laude from North Carolina Central University, an M.A. in Psychology from Fisk Univeristy and a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology
from the Pennsylvania State University.
